We've had some questions about the different things we're doing for Christmas... here is a quick summary! You can contact us for more info if needed!

Project Manna --- Nearly half of the students at Union Local receive the subsidized lunches. There is a need for helping individuals and families in our area at Christmas (and throughout the year). Project Manna serves about 200 individuals and families in the Union Local School District at Christmastime. We help with food for a Christmas meal and some other items, as well as toys and clothing for children.

It takes many servant volunteers to make Project Manna Christmas Distribution a success! We would love to have your prayer support. We also need hands-on help with packing and distributing items. We will have a work day on Saturday, December 6 from 10:00 am until 3:00 (we will likely finish by 1:30). Lunch will be provided and we’ll be packing over 500 bags of food items! Distribution is on Friday, December 12, beginning with a pancake and sausage breakfast for our neighbors at 8:30 am.

We can always use donations of
o Canned goods – especially fruit, vegetables, soup
o Toilet tissue
o Dish soap
o Liquid laundry detergent
o Monetary donations help with the extra items needed

Donations can be dropped off at Epworth Center. We also are in need of those who are willing to shop for angel gifts for children.
We accept donations (items and monetary) year around for our regular food pantry as well. Monetary donations are tax deductible.

Group Home Party --- We work closely with the local group home for teenage girls. Throughout the year, these young ladies come to help serve at many of our events, oftentimes doing behind-the-scenes preparation. We are able to encourage and support them in return. One young lady shared, “Thank you for letting us come and help you (pack food baskets). It was really fun.”

We are planning a Christmas party for the young ladies in December. If you would like to help sponsor the event, we are in need of donations of fun, girlie items (hair things, makeup, personal care items, journals, etc.), or monetary support. Donations are tax deductible. We want to see these ladies not just “survive,” but thrive – and you can help play a part!

Operation Christmas Child ---- We are excited to announce that we will serve as a relay site for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes again this year! National Collection Week is November 17 - 24, 2014 and we will accept shoeboxes Monday thru Saturday daily from 8:30 - 10:30 am, and also on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 pm. We will also collect on Sunday, November 23 from noon - 2:00 pm and Monday, November 24 from 9:30-10:30 am.

A shoebox gift can teach a child about God's love and spread His Word into communities. Last year our area of nine counties along the Ohio River collected over 5,000 shoeboxes, contributing to the nationwide collection of 7.5 million gifts! Need more info about OCC?
